Anniversary

2016 saw the 750th Anniversary of the signing of the Foundation Charter of Burnham Abbey (see photograph above) and the 100th Anniversary of the first Eucharist being celebrated here following the arrival of the Sisters of the Society of the Precious Blood.

April 2016

June 2016

On 28 June 2016 a service was held at the church of St Thomas of Canterbury, Goring-on-Thames to celebrate six nuns who set out from Goring to begin the Religious Life at Burnham Abbey. The Pilgrims set off from Goring-on-Thames

A pilgrimage walk to Burnham Abbey followed, the pilgrims completing part of the journey each day of that week, arriving at the Abbey for the celebration day held on 2 July 2016.
